HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR COMMUNITY!

Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes

Obesity rates are skyrocketing (they have almost tripled for adults and quadrupled for children over the last 50 years), chronic diseases are on the rise and people are less active than ever before.

What are we doing about it? Not enough.

We’re all so busy with our own lives, we don’t have time to care about our own health. We’re happy to let the fast food companies and the social media giants dictate our eating and exercise habits.

But that’s not good enough.

If we want to change the state of health and fitness in the world, we have to start with ourselves. We have to be willing to stand up and fight for our own health. We have to be willing to make sacrifices.

I know it’s not easy. It’s much easier to just sit back and complain about how unhealthy and unfit we are, but if we don’t do something, things are only going to get worse.

So what can we do? Here are a few ideas:

  • Get informed. The first step to making change is to understand the problems we face. Read books and articles about health and fitness. Talk to people who know more than you do (our fitness and nutrition coaches are well versed, book a free intro to talk to one of us).
  • Get involved. Once you’re informed, get involved in your community. Join a gym (JCFit would be a great place to start) or fitness class. Volunteer for a cause that promotes health and fitness. Make your voice heard.
  • Support changemakers. There are people all over the world who are working to make the world a healthier and fitter place. Support their work with your time, money, and vote.

If we all do our part, we can make a difference.

This next part may sound harsh to you; if so,  take a few minutes to think about why that is.

If you’re not willing to make sacrifices for your own health, then you’re part of the problem.

You’re the one sitting on the sidelines, watching your health deteriorate. You’re the one who’s more concerned about your own comfort and convenience than your own future.

You’re the one who’s saying, “I don’t have time to exercise” or “but I love to eat unhealthy food”

Well, I’ll tell you what you can do.

  • You can start by making your health a priority.
  • Set realistic goals. Don’t try to change everything at once. Start with small changes and gradually build up.
  • Find a workout routine that you enjoy and stick to it. You can start by exercising for at least 30 minutes a day, 3 days of the week.
  • You can start by eating a healthy diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
  • Get more sleep.
  • Manage stress.

If you need help with any of these things, book a free intro with us.  We’ll help you create a plan to get started.

Your health is your most important asset. If you don’t have your health, you have nothing.

The time for change is now.

But remember, nothing changes if nothing changes.
